About Jacob Weldon, Esq.

What Makes Attorney Jacob Weldon Uniquely Qualified To Represent You?
When you're facing the power of the criminal justice system—or the deep pockets of an insurance company—you need more than just a lawyer. You need an advocate. You need someone who will stand beside you, fight for you, and ensure your story is heard.
Jake is deeply committed to representing individuals accused of crimes and those who have been harmed due to the negligence of others. While these two areas of law—criminal defense and personal injury—may seem worlds apart, they are united by a single truth: ordinary people are often up against extraordinary odds. Jake’s role is to level the playing field. He approaches every case—whether it involves a DUI, a serious injury, or a wrongful arrest—with the same unwavering dedication to justice. Jake understands that the outcome of a case often hinges not on who shouts the loudest, but on who knows the facts best. That’s why a thorough, evidence-based investigation is at the heart of his practice. Jake leaves no stone unturned. His clients benefit not just from his legal acumen, but from a tireless work ethic honed in the Marine Corps, tested in the courtroom, and driven by a deep sense of responsibility to those he serves.
With Jake Weldon in your corner, you’re not just hiring a lawyer—you’re gaining an ally who knows how to fight and refuses to back down.

Meet Jacob Weldon
Jacob “Jake” Weldon was born and raised in the quaint community of Lamar County, Georgia, the third of four boys. Out of high school, Jake attended the University of Georgia, where he pursued a dual degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. He graduated in 2005 with a growing sense that understanding people—and fighting for them—would be central to his life’s mission.
After college, Jake was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps, serving for four years. After returning home, Jake stepped into the family masonry business during which time he met his wife Sarah, in Honduras. They married and moved to Missouri, her home state, where Jake took on a variety of roles within the federal government. Yet, the urge to make a more personal impact kept tugging at his spirit.
With characteristic resolve, Jake began attending law school part-time at night in
Missouri at St. Louis University School of Law. Eventually, that path led him back to Georgia, where he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia. While in law school, he gained hands-on experience clerking for the Honorable Judges Fears and Wilson, sharpening his legal mind and developing a keen sense of justice.
After graduation, Jake joined a respected criminal defense firm in Zebulon, Georgia, where he built a reputation for tireless advocacy and fearless courtroom presence. In 2018, he brought his talents to Sexton Law Firm. His work ethic and passion quickly made an impact, and by 2022, Jake had risen to partner—ushering in a new chapter as Sexton Weldon Law Firm was born.
Today, Jake is an active member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and is
admitted to practice in all Georgia courts, including the Georgia Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. His practice focuses on personal injury, criminal defense, and civil rights—fighting for the underdog, the voiceless, and those who’ve been wronged.
Beyond the courtroom, Jake lives out his values at home and in his community. He and Sarah are raising their two daughters in Lamar County, where faith and family are at the center of their lives. Jake is a devoted member of Rock Springs Church, where he leads a life group, serves on multiple boards, and volunteers in the men’s ministry. His love for mentorship and spiritual growth extends to Genesis Grappling Club, a unique ministry blending faith-based devotions with jiu-jitsu training. Through this work, Jake helps those of all ages to strengthen both body and soul. Jake is also a founding voice behind Honor the Blood, a faith-driven podcast and outreach ministry focused on transformation through truth and testimony. In 2024, he authored his first book, The Anointed: The First King—a powerful and historically grounded retelling of the life of David, blending biblical narrative with compelling storytelling.
Whether in the courtroom, on the mat, behind the mic, or at home with his family, Jake Weldon lives with purpose: to serve, to lead, and to lift others up. His life is a testament to the belief that courage, faith, and compassion can change lives—one case, one person, and one story at a time.
